This exclusive two-weekend in-person training is designed to give you hands-on experience, expert guidance, and the confidence to start your Loctician Journey. I carefully select participants to ensure we have the right energy to promote a safe and inspirational learning environment to enable you to have a profound and life changing experience. Weekend 1: Mastering Dreadlock Creation & Maintenance
Saturday 16 August & Sunday 17 August 2025
Introductions and personal coaching exercises to help you align your personal development with your Loctician journey
Learn and practice my signature, PROVEN techniques for sectioning, backcombing, and crocheting dreadlocks, on your doll heads.
Gain experience working on a live model for dreadlock maintenance under my supervision.
At the end of the first weekend, you’ll be expected to complete your doll head at home, and you’ll have access to me via our community group for feedback and support during the four-week break.
Weekend 2: Dreadlock Extensions & Client Work
Saturday 13 September & Sunday 14 September 2025
Reconnect with your group, address any questions, and dive into further coaching.
Learn the complete process for installing dreadlock extensions, practicing on doll heads.
Work on a live model to create partial dreadlock extensions, giving you valuable hands-on client experience under supervision.
You will be provided with a complete professional tool kit and training manual on arrival. There will be open Q&A throughout to ensure all your questions are answered.
Ongoing Support and Certification
To ensure that you have practised and perfected the skills and techniques to a professional standard, and to receive the Ami Watkins Dreadlocks Academy Certification, you will be required to complete model work following the training weekends, to include:
2 full heads of dreadlock maintenance
2 full heads of new natural dreadlocks
2 full heads of dreadlocks with human hair extensions
You will be fully supported and assessed in your model work via our Academy Community and have access to all of the additional training that I provide. By the end of this training you will have both the technical skills and the personal development tools to confidently offer a professional Loctician service and start building your business.

Hi, My Name is Ami.
My own dreadlock journey began in 2017, and to say it has been life-changing is no exaggeration! With a background in spiritual healing, coaching, and counselling, I’ve always felt a deep calling to support others through their personal transformation. But it wasn’t until I embraced dreadlocks that I truly found my authentic path.
Having dreadlocks took me deeper into self-discovery, shedding societal conditioning and embracing the freedom to be fully myself. This journey led me to a complete career transformation—and the call to become a Loctician.
In just 6 years, my life has completely transformed. I now enjoy a life of freedom, meaningful connections, and the joy of running a soul-aligned business that allows me to impact my community. Becoming a Loctician has been the most empowering journey of my life, and it’s a path I’m passionate about sharing with other women.
Through this exclusive in-person training, my hope is to guide a select group of women on their own journey to freedom—helping them create profitable, fulfilling businesses that align with their deepest values.
