Hi, My Name is Ami.

My own dreadlock journey began in 2017 and to say it has been life changing is no exaggeration! I have a background in spiritual healing and development, homelessness prevention, coaching and counselling. My passion in life has always been my own healing journey, with a deep inner calling to support and hold others through theirs.

Having dreadlocks took me further along a path of authenticity. Shedding masks and layers of conditioning became the defining impact that the dreadlock journey had on me. This culminated in a complete career change of direction and the call to become a loctician.

In 6 years, my life has changed beyond recognition. The freedom, the personal growth, the incredible connections I've made, the impact I can have on my community, none of this would have been possible without this work. Becoming a loctician was the journey of a lifetime.

In creating this course, my hopes are twofold. That we can pioneer a new era of the dreadlock industry and elevate the perception of dreadlocks in the world as the beautiful, stunning hairstyle that it is. And that I can inspire a new generation of locticians to flourish and grow beyond their wildest dreams with dreadlock work as the vehicle for their success.

Course Requirements

  • The course is suitable for COMPLETE beginners and more experienced Locticians who would like to learn my signature method and go on the personal development path that is the Loctician Journey. The course includes business essentials such as vision and goal setting, creating an abundance mindset and establishing business boundaries and terms.

  • This course is suitable for anyone who would like to learn a PROVEN professional method for working on real dreadlocks. This does not cover any kind of synthetic or wool dreadlock work.

  • To complete the course you are required to find and work on hair models to the required standard. This will be - 2 new full heads of dreadlocks, 2 full heads of dreadlock extensions and 2 full heads of dreadlock maintenance. You will be coached on how to look for models and your work will be assessed by photographs and videos that you will take.

For those students who would like additional support and the full VIP package for their Loctician training, I do offer the option of 1-1 training in the Medusa Dreadlocks Studio.

The training will be tailored to your individual requirements and on application we can confirm the program for the in person training. It will include elements of personal coaching as well as hands on training. Depending on where you are on your journey, this may involve doll head work and working on models together.
